The CCRSRI

MANY HANDS - ONE BOLD VISION - ENDLESS IMPACT

What began as a grassroots effort led by former students and community members grew into a volunteer-driven 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving an irreplaceable piece of educational history.  

In 2019, CCRSRI acquired the long-vacant school building and led its comprehensive restoration, culminating in the building’s reopening to the public in January 2026.  Today, the restored school lives on as The Impact Center—honoring its past while actively serving the present and future needs of the Eastern Shore. 

We value inclusivity, community engagement, social justice and lifelong learning.  Our vision is to create a place where a vibrant Eastern Shore community gathers to learn, play and prosper.  Our mission is unifying and energizing Virginia's Eastern Shore through community partnerships and opportunities for lifelong learning and economic empowerment for all.
